I thought I would take the time to write a little about the history about the project IUP Portfolio.
I go to an IT college and in that college we had an assignment to find out about different IT systems I then came in contact with a government worker named mats Östling.
He told me about the new systems that Swedish schools would be using for goal orientation and the measurements of the schools and its pupils.
The reason behind the new system is that in 2006 a new law was formed saying that all students in Swedish public schools should have a document that specifies what goals and achievements applies for that special student.
No longer the same plan for all children. Now all schools are already in some form already doing this every year. The students and parents and the teacher gather for a conversation about how the student since it's doing in school and how the parents can help and how the teacher can help. This new system that we are developing is to help and guide and in based in these talks.
